Who we are
Deming Luna County Commission on Aging exists to support the well-being, independence, and dignity of older adults throughout Deming and Luna County. Through the Deming Senior Center, we provide essential services, programs, and opportunities that help seniors remain active, connected, and supported as they age. Our work focuses on meeting both everyday needs and long-term quality of life through reliable services and community-centered programming.
As a nonprofit organization, the Commission on Aging offers nutrition services, transportation, in-home support, adult day care, respite care, and personal care services, along with social, wellness, and educational activities. The Senior Center also serves as a gathering place where seniors can build friendships, stay engaged, and participate in programs that support physical health, emotional well-being, and social connection. Services are available to adults age 60 and older, with many programs offered free or with a small voluntary contribution.
Serving a large rural county comes with unique challenges, including distance, limited access to services, and environmental conditions. The Deming Luna County Commission on Aging works in partnership with local, state, and national organizations to address these challenges, reduce isolation, and ensure seniors across Luna County have access to the care, resources, and opportunities they deserve.
